She decided he wasn't swayed much one way or the other about it. "I'm not one to fight for no reason. If I am in danger or if I need to protect one I love, I will, of course, protect them." She cocked her head at him, letting the long creme locks fall into her eyes. A slight smile played at her lips and she continued, "In my opinion, which is neither the right opinion or the wrong, I believe if you are fighting for someone you truly care about it is worth it. But fighting for petty things is what I'd call barbaric." Luna was enjoying herself, it was almost more fun learning from this horse then it had been explore every inch of the pond she had seen earlier.
The wind picked up a little and a few scatterings of leaves drifted by. Luna's hair danced with the wind before it faded away to bother some other patch of woods. She smiled at the compliment, it was nice to receive one. Usually she felt like the only horse in the world. Luna just wasn't as social as she used to be, she'd hide and observe, not flirt and talk. To be called 'bright' was nice. "Well, then thank you. Although painful to talk about, you've helped me more then you know. If we continue by that logic anyways." She smiled and folded her ears down before letting them spring back up to catch the rustle of bushes behind her. She dismissed it for once instead of running to explore.
"Then that's a tad funny. My mother originally wanted to call me Artemis. She was a Greek goddess, goddess of the moon in fact!" Luna said in her usual soft voice. She paused at his question about her father. Luna stared directly at Nikolai without seeing him. Luna could remember those times when her and her father would stay up late and watch the stars. Memory like that one and a million others flooded into her head and Luna let them soak there for a minute before bringing herself out of her reverie. "Yes, he was rather interested in the moon. But, so was I. I assume you are too?" Her laugh rung out softly again. It was slightly amusing that this horse could hold her attention for so long. Something that neither the prettiest or handsomest horses could ever do, aside from her family of course.
If a horse could ever stroke her chin in a thoughtful way that's what Luna would be doing at this point in time, but, alas they can not for horses do not have hands and or fingers or a joint that could move like that. She was thinking back about Nikolai's son and was wondering how he was. Luna wondered if the foal had the pretty splashes that Nikolai had or if he was more like Susama, however it was that she looked. Luna was rather tempted to offer to help find Nikolai's son. But almost laughed, that would be a stupid and somewhat awkward thing to offer. She had only just met this horse.

The masculine dipped his dial as he spoke. "Ah. Then we are alike, no?" He asked with sparkling eyes of happiness. He'd never met another equine that sought past the brutality of the world. All of them wanted for themselves. Land. Harem. Heirs. They didn't provide love, or care to each and every member, only those they favored. Only those who gave in return. They gave nothing from the goodness of their hearts, if there was any goodness at all in there. For the moment, Nikolai couldn't help but wonder what his son was like. Did he, too, avoid brutality? Or had he become a cold, ruthless, murderer?
The thought caused Nikolai to close his eyes and grunt in discomfort as bloody images rang over his mind. His son - A murder. Nikolai could only imagine. If his boy were anything like him, he'd fight for all the right reasons, and ignore the wrong. He wouldn't worry about petty things such as mares, who usually come and go, and having land. Instead, he could roam the lands, never worrying about protecting a certain amount of terrain. There would be no land guarding. No fighting over what the world had plenty of. No stress over something so pointless. Nikolai could only hope his boy had turned out that way. He could only hope.
Luna spoke, and Nikolai turned his attention to her, though the thoughts still haunted his mind, and the pain of those thoughts danced in his eyes. He cleared his throat so he'd speak evenly. He didn't want to worry her. "Well, then perhaps my theory is correct. Perhaps you were named after a Goddess. It would fit quite well." Nikolai said with a kind smile.
Nikolai then answered his earlier question and smiled. "Then I'm sure your father was quite an interesting equine, as you are. Those who take interest in the moon, I take interest in. After all, not many want to know much about the moon like I do. I want to know how it can glow the way it does. How it be so large and bright that we can see it, yet, it's so far away that we can't touch or smell it. It doesn't even make a sound. How can that be?" Nikolai wondered aloud.
