Her rounded, cresent-shaped flints hit softly against the earth, lifting away to reveal a trail of faint moons. Her paperthins flared, scenting the air and finding nothing of interest. Her ears layed flat against her crown, not with anger but overall sadness and lonliness, but it was best if she was alone. She couldn't trust anyone--that she had learned painfully. She'd be a fool to make the same mistake twice, even if it was only friendship offered to her. Letting someone get close meant it was easier to get hurt and Stardust felt like she endured enough pain for a lifetime. It was a tragedy to have her heart broken at such a young age, but it had happened, and it's beat was faint and lifeless in her chest. It didn't beat with vitality and passion, just a dull pulse to keep her body alive. Sometimes she considered what it would be like for her heart to stop beating completely, to have her whole body shut down and her soul leave into the unknown, but Stardust would never go through with such a thought. Life had kicked her down, but life was still a precious gift to cherish.
The dappled gray continued walking, her charcoal and caramel-highlighted mane hung over her downcast facade. Her amber eyes void of any spark they once had. A soft roaring started in her receptors and as she glanced up, she noticed a small waterfall. She continued until she reached the small pool it fell into and solemly glanced down at her reflection.
