Name: Nikolai
Breed: Tobiano Paint Horse
Age: 3
Height: 15.2hh
Coat Color/Special Markings: Palomino Splashed
Eye Color: Honey Gold
Personality: Nikolai is a gentle character. Always lending help to those in need. Always taking those under his wing they need it. He's kind, willing, and charming. A lover more than a fighter, but as the cliche expression goes, he'll fight for what he loves. Nikolai has never struck out at anyone in pure rage. Only in self-defense, and he'd never strike towards a femme.
Nikolai is an optimist. Always looking at the brighter side of things. Always willing to take just one more step forward, for what may be bad on the other side can be changed to good in a matter of moments. Even still, Nikolai is just as cursed with depression as any other individual out there. He is usually quiet and reserved during this period, and tends to hide himself away.
Nikolai is a naturally open type of equine. Willing to let any secrets slip from his lips without a regret. He sees life as only one, and in that life, you must take risks to find those that will mean the most to you, and so, he opens his heart to the world, even if it is a cruel cruel place.
The stallion is young, but indeed respectful of others. He's always striving to be on the better side, and remains completely neutral in any argument. He's the type of guy to still step up and announce that something is on his mind, however, and doesn't care to suffer the consequences.
He never fights without reason. Per say a brute wanted to fight him for land, he'd hand it over. Land is nothing to fight over since there is plenty more in the world, untouched by a soul, and Nikolai never likes to settle in once place for too long anyway. This had never earned him the name of a coward, but as generous, and given him the title, Nikolai the Pacifist.
History: Nikolai was born to a small herd of a lead stallion, four mares, and two other foals, both fillies. From an early age, Nikolai had shown respect for both females and males. Even though one filly, Amari, was always bulling him, he was still as polite as ever to her, but had his share of putting her place when she would bully little Suzama, a sickly filly who had a weak immune system and a 40% chance of survivial.
Nikolai never let himself get too close to anyone in the herd besides his mother and father. Everything he learned in the fields of battle, he learned from his father. While the techniques were useful, Nikolai would never use them unless needed. Even when the herd was raided, Nikolai only fought to protect his mother, and sickly Suzama. The rest of the herd, he left to fend for themselves.
When Nikolai was two years old, he decided to venture out on his own. At his side, was the strong survivor, Suzama. A willing lead mare to his starting herd. After bearing him a foal, a surprisingly healthy young colt, Suzama died. Her body was too weak to support the colt, though she tried hard to remain alive for Nikolai.
It wasn't long before the colt began to grow weak without the milk of his mother, and Nikolai, desperate for his only child to survive, searched for mares anywhere that had lost their foals, and were willing to take in young Suzuko. Help almost came too late for the young lad. Luckily, Nikolai had found a mare who was already heavy with foal, and producing enough milk to support Suzuko and her unborn foal, so she took in the young colt. Nikolai remained with the mare and his son until the colt could move around easily. After that, he placed them in the care of a loving brute that Nikolai had befriended only months before Suzama's death.
Nikolai was a bit stunned by the death and giving up that had happened within a week's time, and didn't settle land for a herd until three months later. However, he only reigned as lead stallion for seven months before a brute challenged him for his land and mares. Seven months of ruling, no foals, no breeding, and Nikolai didn't see the point in fighting. He handed the herd and land over to the stag and left.
Two months of traveling alone led him here, and it is here that he has decided to make his new home.
