Name: Maple
Breed: Arabian x Hanoverian
Age: 8 months
Gender: Female
Height: 16 hh when mature
Coat Color/Special Markings: Maple colored. Has two socks on her back legs that reach to her ankles. Her mane and tail are black.
Eye Color: brown
Personality:
Maple is a gentle spirit. She is very reserved and quiet, she tends to stay out of other horse’s ways, mostly in fear they will hurt her. Maple doesn’t like to interact with other horses very much and it takes a lot to win her over just because she is so scared. Maple is very soft-spoken and doesn’t anger easily. She gets pushed around a lot just because she is very easy going and very quiet. Maple wasn’t always scared to speak her mind; just in light of recent events this seems to be her permanent personality. Maple is painfully shy, she probably won’t even say hello if you do, just a nod and a worried look is what you’ll receive. She is mostly afraid of males; just the thought of them terrifies her.
Underneath all of her lack of self-confidence and shyness, she can be sweet and loving. She likes to play with others and such, but, never usually does because of her before mentioned shyness. When you can manage to gain her trust Maple will be fiercely loyal to you and you could never do wrong in her eyes. She is a sweetheart and is very thoughtful and tries to be respectful. She’ll bow her head and such; she just may not say anything.
History:
Maple was born into a pretty normal herd. Or, at least that’s what it looked like from the outside. Their herd was an outcast and for good reason too. The head honcho enjoyed beating on his harem and he also liked to steal from other herds. Maple was unlucky to be born a female and being a female she was considered scum. To the herd leader all females were considered beneath him.
Her first few months of life were normal enough, but, that was because her mother shielded it from innocent, little Maple. Up until she was six months old she had a very happy life, she was outgoing and adventurous. Maple was still shy and closed off, but she also loved life and her mother deeply. But, her crazy father was tired of Maple’s mother hiding Maple from him. In a fit of anger her took Maple and started to kick at her and bite her. This pain, it was intolerable, it was awful, Maple couldn’t even comprehend what was going on. Maple lay on the ground near death and was about to be hit with a final blow when her mother attacked the sadistic stallion. There and then her father murdered her mother. He made Maple’s mother suffer though, he killed her slowly, and obviously he enjoyed the suffering.
Maple’s mind shattered while watching. A bought of adrenaline got her moving and Maple ran away from that accursed place. The stallion didn’t chase her; he thought that she probably wouldn’t have lived anyways. For a while after wards Maple couldn’t do any normal processes, she was just a meat brick. After a week or so of gnawing hunger she began to rebuild her mind and herself. She has managed to live, usually by just following from a distance any groups of horses she finds and is a wanderer.
