History:
- Born into the same herd as Conquistador. Her father was Zorro, a stallion born on the main land who had swam to the island. Zorro had been fortunate enough to befriend Magellan, the herd stallion, who allowed him to live and breed alongside him. Her mother was Pluma, a tenth cousin once removed of Isabella, the boss mare.
- Because she was so small in comparison to the rest of the foals born that year, Candelaria was treated as if she were inferior to them. While the other foals were learning valuable fighting and foal-raising skills, petite Candelaria was getting babbled at in baby talk. Perhaps some of them assumed that a short stature was directly related to mental retardation.
