The Laws of the Island
As under the rule of Conquistador, founder of this herd
- There will be only two stallions within the herd at any point: one of Conquistador's bloodline, and one that is not.
- The boss mare's position is not handed down from mother to daughter. A new boss mare will be chosen whenever the next stallion of Conquistador's line takes his place.
- Herd mares, if breeding, must always select one of the two herd stallions to be sire. A mare found out to be carrying another stallion's child will be forced to either terminate her pregnancy or abandon the foal.
- Colts must leave the herd when they become sexually mature unless they wish to fight their sire for their position as herd stallion.
- Fillies may either stay with the herd or go to live with an allied herd once they reach sexual maturity. If, for some reason they are endangered in their new home, the fillies are welcome to come back to The Island.
- Slaves are allowed and encouraged if they are taken from enemy herds.
- It is not recommended that one leave The Island by themselves, as their are many predators in the surrounding swamp that could easily kill or cripple a horse. Mares may leave The Island if doing so in groups of at least three. Foals may not leave The Island until their first birthday unless being escorted by at least three adults.
- If you wish for an alliance or membership, come to the shores of The Island and call for Conquistador. Do not venture beyond the cattail fence, as this will make you as a threat to the herd in Conquistador's eyes. Any found to be trespassing beyond the cattail fence will chased off, regardless of their intentions.
